For This Day Trip to OUARZAZATE We will collect you from your hotel / raid in Marrakech at 8:00 PM and start heading to the ATLAS MOUNTAINS through the TIZI N’TICHKA pass peak 2260 meters, the main way towards OURZAZATE.
As dramatic as spectacular the road offer astonishing views of the snow topped peaks of the ATLAS as many Berber villages. Upon our descending to visit The Berber village of TELOUET, once of the seat of the Kasbah GLAOUI rulers of this part of the Atlas and Southern Morocco – only 21 km off the main road from Marrakech to OURZAZATE just past the top of TIZI N’ TICHKA – sits pretty much in a ONILA VALLEY behind Morocco’s second highest mountain pass so it’s up pretty high in the mountains.
It therefore is an excellent spot with mellow weather to escape faraway the summer heat – usually several degrees cooler or more than the heat of Marrakech and OURZAZATE.
Then we will arrive to an ideal heritage site to break your journey in KSAR of AIT BEN HADDOU. The KSAR, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are re-in forced by corner towers. AIT-BEN-HADDON, in OUARZAZATE province, is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco.
